Some of our FAQ’s
Is Pole Dance suitable for me?
As long as you’re interested, then yes! Pole Dance is beneficial for everyone regardless of age, sex, or weight. Your instructor will teach you the basic principles of the exercises and coach you thoroughly and enthusiastically through every new technique. Whether you’re a beginner or have a fitness background, you can make it as easy or as challenging as you like.
Do I need to be strong and flexible?
No, you will build your strength and improve your flexibility over the course of the term. We design our pole dance courses to include conditioning and stretching in each class, to help you to develop your pole skills safely. It doesn’t matter if you can’t touch your toes or hold your own body weight – after all, you’re here to improve!
How do I find out what level I should be in?
Pole&Dance Mallorca’s classes are divided into 5 levels in which each student learns different figures, according to the classe level. For the other classes like GAP, Flexi Silks etc. it doesn’t require any kind of level.
What do I wear to classes?
For lots of the tricks in pole dancing you will need bare legs to be able to grip the pole, so we recommend that you wear shorts. You can wear something longer as long as you can hoist / roll it up when necessary! A t-shirt is best for your top half! Please also bring trainers for the warm-up. Supplementary classes may require knee pads or sneakers, be sure to check the description of your class for details. Do not forget your water bottle! It is very important to stay hydrated during the class.
IMPORTANT: It’s VERY important that you do not apply moisturiser, lotion, fake tan, or oil to your skin on the day of the class. They can transfer to the pole, and make it dangerous for you, and anyone else using the same pole. Please remove all rings, watches and bracelets before using the pole.
What happens in a typical class?
All students arrive about 10 minutes before the class start time, to allow for changing and checking in. The class starts with an aerobic mobilisation warm up.
Then we spend 25 minutes working on strength and conditioning to prepare your body for harder moves in the future. The instructor aims to spend some minutes at each pole working on new moves and improvements and variations on previous ones. You will be taught moves suitable for your own personal ability level. And for the “ChoreoPole” we learn a choreography. Towards the end of the class we sometimes have “freestyle pole dance” where we choose a popular song, and dance to it. The class finishes with a stretch cool down.
Which level should I choose?
If you’ve never practiced pole dance, it is recommended to start with level 1. If you have already done this sport, let us know and we will put the appropriate level.o.
When can I go to the next level?
Each level lasts about 16 weeks. Only the teachers of Pole&Dance Mallorca are able to determine the level of each student. They will decide if you should go to the next level.
What happens if I have to miss a class? How can I do a reservation?
